NoleInsider.com’s Michael Wolczik has updates on several Florida State targets for the Class of 2010 in his latest recruiting notebook, including the latest on Saint Thomas Aquinas cornerback Keion Payne. Damien Jacobs Spoke with Damien briefly today and we discussed where he stands at the current time in regards to schools. He told me the four schools recruiting him the hardest are FSU, Ole Miss, Tulsa, and FIU. He stated that FSU is currently sitting real well. He likes the coaching staff, the campus, and he left his visit with a lot of good memories and thoughts. Damien stated he wants to see one or two more places before announcing his choice, but did not know which schools. Currently, the coaches of Florida State and Damien speak at least once a week. He plans on making his commitment sometime during the season, but he said it may not take that long. There are no official visits planned at this current time, but he did say he will probably visit Florida State again. Keion Payne Spoke with Keion today and we discussed what is new with his recruitment. He told me that the schools that are recruiting him the most are Miami, Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, and Tennessee. I asked him about his rumored stance towards favoring Miami. Keion stated “everybody is pretty much the same right now”. Coach Coley has been maintaining consistent communication with him. Payne will be visiting Florida State on Labor Day for the game against Miami. He has no timetable for an announcement date and it could happen at any time.
