Goodwin an All-American

Wide receiver Antonio Goodwin (Atlanta, Ga./Booker T. Washington) is the latest addition to the Under Armour All-American Game roster. Though he has not gotten the headlines of other receivers in the Southeast, Goodwin is a very talented prospect who is impressive on film.

Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Oregon and others have offered Goodwin. The Tigers are in good shape at the moment.

Lattimore visits Clemson and Georgia

Running back Marcus Lattimore (Duncan, S.C./James F. Byrnes) does an occasional diary for ESPN affiliate sites. Below is the most recent installment.

I went to Clemson last Tuesday. I went up with (Lattimore's recruiting adviser) Dean Davis and Tye Quentin. Tye is a defensive back from Mauldin. We toured the campus. coach Swinney gave us a personal tour. He showed us the new stuff being built and everything. We also toured the campus.

I talked with all of the coaches. I got to talk with the whole offensive staff. They told me how successful I would be in the Clemson offense. They told me how good it would be for me.

Tye brought his highlight film up with him. The next day he got an offer from North Carolina A&T because one of their coaches was working the camp.

We went to the seven-on-seven at Georgia. We played good. There were some good teams there. We did pretty good. We are looking good.

We cancelled the seven-on-seven in Charlotte. We aren't going to that one. We have another seven-on-seven at Laurens on Tuesday. We go to Oregon next month. That is it for a while.

I am going to North Carolina on Friday for a visit. I have been talking a lot with their coaches. I have talked with coach John Blake and coach Butch Davis. I am going to stay there Friday and Saturday.

Nothing has changed with my favorites. I still have the top eight (Alabama, Auburn, North Carolina, South Carolina, Clemson, Florida State, Maryland and Penn State) in no order. I will narrow it down to five by the end of July.

I have been weight lifting and doing speed workouts every day. Our team is coming along good. We will be state champs again this year.
