Carver High School (GA) defensive end Corey Crawford (6’6 245) is a big kid that is reeling in some prominent offers.  Carver High has been host of many impressive recruits over the last few years. Notable alum from Carver includes current Florida State receiver Jarmon Fortson. How is the recruiting process changing for Crawford?

“Everything is really picking up,” said Crawford. “Right now things are going really good. I just got offered from Clemson recently. I am gaining a lot of interest from Georgia and LSU too.”

Currently, does Crawford have a top five list of schools?

“No, at this moment I am open,” said Crawford. “There are some schools recruiting me harder right now. Auburn, Louisville, Maryland, and Florida are recruiting me pretty hard.”

There have been whispers about a certain school being out in front for future services of Corey Crawford for some time.

“I really like Auburn,” said Crawford. “I talk to Coach Tracy Rocker a lot. I like the coaching down there. They are real down to earth. They just really tell the truth.”

With all this talk of other schools. Where is Florida State sitting with Crawford?

“I like Florida State, but I haven’t really been in contact with anybody over there,” said Crawford. “I receive some emails, but haven’t talked to any coaches over the phone or in person yet. My coach (McGee) and I were talking about that today. We honestly don’t know.”

With the lack of communication from the Florida State coaches. What is Crawford looking for in his future residence?

“My important things are coaches and environment,” said Crawford. “I want to have a good relationship with the coaches. Also, I want to be somewhere where I am comfortable.”

Even though Florida State is not currently applying the pressure, does FSU fit his criteria?

“Yea, I’ve been to Tallahassee before,” said Crawford. “I have family that lives there. They also have one of my old teammates (Jarmon Fortson) down there. We talk when he comes home. We are not tight, but we call each other when he is back home.”

When does Crawford plan on making his final decision?

“Right now, I am going to wait to make a decision,” said Crawford. “I am planning to commit on signing day or the day before.”

Crawford playing linebacker last year racked up 75 tackles and five sacks.

Also recruited by: Alabama, South Carolina, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Memphis.
